Final Call! Summative Posters

Car Poster # 3 MY FAVOURITE

Personally my favorite Car poster I’ve created was the Aston Martin DB5 poster. I think it’s my best mainly because of its great use of the color palette and for its overall sleekness and style. The bold dark gray tone of the Aston Martin blends terrifically with a lighter green gradient found in the background. This use of faded Complementary colours(green, red) in the background, and a mono chromatic(grey, darker grey) in the foreground make for a great combination. This use of color is not over the top and makes the poster very easy on the eyes, exactly what you would want if designing a professional car poster. Continuity is often hard to come by in a poster, but here my use of color pulled it off perfectly.

My poster has a very interesting style. The lens blur I focused on the posters background gives a better sense of depth to the mysterious London street, and causes the viewers eye to focus solely on the car ( the most important aspect). More than that, the blur gives an edgier yet classy feel to the poster, changing the background from your typical dull setting to an intriguing backdrop. The poster has an elegant look to it even though its stylized is somewhat shady.

Out of all my posters in this one I managed to use the rule of thirds very effectively , the focal point sits well along the bottom line of the rule of thirds parameters (box). The viewers eye is effectively focused right towards the dark grey Aston Marton, which is balanced nicely by the gold text on the top right of the poster.
